Robotics at DCM LOGS will be a dedicated space for students where they can experiment, learn, develop and conceptualize different scientific ideas. It will not only help the students to learn the real-life application and importance of the theories learned from their books but also develop a natural kinship towards STEM. We will encourage our students to innovate by working on different theories, blending them together in a meaningful, focused way, and proceed to well-formulated initial phase of experimentation or tinkering that would then lead the students to learn, conceptualize and innovate on their own.
Artificial Intelligence is a technological approach for engaging with the world and solving some of its toughest problems. It is a technique that today’s students are likely to encounter throughout the course of their professional lives, regardless of the professions they choose. At DCM LOGS, we will try to demystify AI which is perceived as a complicated subject to understand by developing an appreciation for how AI is reshaping the economy and the career landscape. Students will learn to use smart tools as an approach to managing and processing data; derive its roots in engineering; comprehend a way of problem solving and designing solutions in an entirely new way; thus, leading to an opportunity to bring together different disciplines, interests, and people in order to create something entirely new.
DCM LOGS is an advocate for Makerspace revolution, that will allow kids to create virtually anything they can imagine with recyclables. In this way it will differ from many of the other projects DCM LOGS offers, where things need to be done step-by-step for the final product to work correctly. It will encourage innovation and critical thinking, not just following directions.
DCM LOGS will be equipped with ultra modern, fully air conditioned networked computer cells with sophisticated networked nodes, multimedia system installations and fast Internet facilities. DCM LOGS School will be introducing tablets for students in higher classes. Internet connectivity will be filtered through the installation of fire walls. The state of the art ICT hardware will enhance the quality and depth of learning for the taught. The entire system and processes in the schools will be operated through our own ERP system and Mobile App.
As key generators and promoters of in depth research we intend to create an environment where scholars, students and our research collaborators will have the freedom to explore ideas and make an impact through world-leading research. Improving education through our research & incubation centre, we will develop, test and disseminate new approaches to improve conceptual understanding and learning across the grades.
As a versatile learning platform, DCM LOGS plans to create an Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (VR) Lab* to transform the way educational content is delivered. Working on the premise of creating a virtual world, the lab will allow students to not only see but also interact with the content, leading to an immersive experience. This new-age learning will go a long way in making the children understand the concepts, sparking their imagination, leaving them with memories and experiences that will help visualize and understand even the most complex of concepts.
Design Thinking is a mindset and approach to learning, collaboration, and problem solving. In a nutshell, it can be even said that it is a way to define and solve tough challenges by challenging assumptions, and redefining problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with initial level of understanding.
At DCM Young Entrepreneurs School we will be following an ingenuous design thinking curriculum that will immerse students and teachers in real-world problem solving. The students will be channelized towards re-framing a problem in human-centric ways, creating many ideas in brainstorming sessions, and adopting a hands-on approach in prototyping and testing. The learning process will involve ongoing experimentation: sketching, prototyping, testing, and trying out concepts and ideas.
Design Thinking Workshops (curated by set of national and international experts from diversified backgrounds) will be presented in a very lucid manner to the students of DCM LOGS wherein they will share truly insightful interspersed experiences with top-notch practical exercises with the students to help them understand the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration for co-creation of new solutions to complex business issues.
Coding forms a part of basic literacy in the digital age, and it’s important for kids to understand – and be able to innovate with – the technology around them. It is a well-structured way to introduce children to logical thinking and problem-solving and helps them to develop an appreciation of how things work. It also teaches them how to use math in order to solve problems in a logical and creative way. Coding is umblically linked to creation. It is a thrilling subject that empowers every child.
Coding requires creativity and critical thinking – future-ready skills that, along with collaboration and communication, are essential. It enables children to enter the world of new-age technology by giving them an arena to develop apps and games or work in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. There’s a high demand for workers with coding skills in the tech industry. Across the world, governments are introducing some form of computing curriculum from kindergarten—five years onwards. In India, NEP 2020 has made coding a mandatory subject.
The nature of coding at DCM LOGS—what and how—will vary by age. Children as young as seven or eight will be taught the basics of programming as this is the elevation period of creativity. Learning the basics at a young age will give them a feeling of confidence and sense of achievement. In elementary school years, important concepts will be taught through tangible cards making it a screen-free and playful experience while slightly older children will be introduced to concepts through block-based programming. Sky Lounge will be an extraordinary learning asset, comprising a remotely operated white dome shaped observatory and telescopes. The observatory will enhance the School’s commitment to astronomy, equipping DCM LOGS with the knowledge and skills required to effectively undertake research using their own primary data—rather than relying on secondary data—and potentially publish their research to support professional astronomical projects. To provide superior educational experiences to students, the Observatory will leverage the power of a fully computerized Dobsonian telescope that can detect 30,000 objects in the sky, and fascinating space exploration and astronomical displays and planetarium shows. The state of the art dome will give students the opportunity to visit the observatory during meteor showers, special celestial events, or simply to gaze into the heavens and enjoy whichever sights might await them.
